A.4.i. Objective: Contractors shall serve the Beginning Educator Support Team (BEST) in the capacity of Mentor Faculty, Mentor Faculty – ESA Specialist, and/or Induction Coach. A.4.ii. Scope of Work: Mentor Faculty Mentor Faculty facilitate OSPI Mentor Academies and/or monthly Mentor Roundtables, depending on contractor availability and interest. Mentor Academies may be full-day sessions, half-days, Saturdays, and/or after school hours. Roundtables are usually one hundred-twenty (120) minutes in length and often occur outside school hours. There are up to nine (9) Mentor Roundtable sessions per year, beginning in September. OSPI will provide Zoom access for facilitators for all online trainings. 1. Co-create, co-plan, and co-facilitate Mentor Academies and/or Mentor Roundtables using agreed upon OSPI curricula and structures, virtually and/or in-person. 2. Collaborate with OSPI and other Mentor Faculty to determine facilitation schedule. 3. Shadow and/or co-facilitate with current or recent Mentor Faculty as requested by OSPI. 4. Assist in planning and participate in the annual BEST Mentor/Coach Equity Conference. 5. Actively participate in virtual monthly Mentor Faculty planning and/or content meetings, as organized by OSPI (dates/times to be determined in partnership with Mentor Faculty). 6. Actively participate in virtual monthly, ninety- (90-) minute BEST contractor co-learning meetings for the purpose of educational and racial justice work, as organized by OSPI. 7. As opportunities present themselves, advocate for school districts regarding their support of high-quality induction for early-career educators. 8. Work group content development and coordination as directed by OSPI staff.
