All window work must follow the Secretary of Interior’s Preservation Brief #9 o Repair deteriorated wood. Traditional materials will be repaired or replaced in kind with materials that match the original and are joined in the same way. o Recognizing some wood is significantly deteriorated, whenever possible we prefer repair rather than replace to retain as much original wood as possible o Replace broken glass panes o Glass windowpanes glazed using Glazing Putty. Use of push points require o Evaluate sills on cabins to ensure they slope downward away from the building and recommend best practice to mitigate water penetration o Remove flaking and loose paint and prepare surfaces for repainting following Preservation Brief #10 o Repair doors, frames and thresholds that are damaged by water or pests o Hardware should be retained and reused o Scrape, prime and paint all wood siding in the Cabin gables using same color as existing
