The Office of Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) is responsible for the operations of the DNA Forensic Biology Laboratory and investigates unusual or unconventional deaths occurring within the City of New York. In furtherance of its mission, the OCME Forensic Biology laboratory performs such analysis with the use of Hamilton Micro Lab STAR Liquid Handling Workstation, air displacement-based instruments. These instruments require continuous and precise calibration, qualification and maintenance services to ensure accurate readings are obtained for critical data related to evidence and adherence to code. OCME intends to enter into a sole source contract with Hamilton Company to provide continued annual maintenance and repair service for the following Micro Lab STAR instruments.
