The City of Surprise (“City”) seeks a qualified Contractor to provide Medical Direction and Infectious Control. To meet the increasing demands of EMS operations, SFMD requires a dedicated Medical Director, either independently or in cooperation with an agency, who can provide tailored medical oversight. This includes the development and maintenance of medical protocols that reflect the latest standards in pre-hospital care while addressing the specific operational needs of the department. The MD, or their qualified designee, will provide both online and offline medical direction, supporting EMS personnel in real-time during critical incidents and ensuring that clinical decisions are aligned with best practices. Additionally, they will oversee the infection control program. It is also preferred the MD, or their qualified designee, will manage controlled substances, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. Furthermore, they may provide oversight to Continuing Education (CE) and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) programs. This includes reviewing patient care data, identifying areas for improvement, and assisting in developing strategies to enhance the quality of care delivered by the EMS personnel.
