1. Replacement of Water Main: The contractor will replace approximately 2,000 feet of the existing 2-inch galvanized water main with new 6-inch C900 water main at approximately 3.5 feet below grade. Contractor will be responsible for making 4 - 6" x 6" taps. 2. Pressure Testing, Disinfection, and Clean Bacteriological Sample: The contractor will be responsible for pressure testing the new water main to ensure it meets required standards. Additionally, the main must be properly disinfected, and a clean bacteriological sample must be pulled. 3. Hydrant Installations: Install 2 - 3.5' hydrants at approximately 500' intervals. 4. Service Renewal: The contractor will renew services from the meter to the new main, ensuring all connections are secure and operational. The contractor is responsible for making 1-inch taps and running 1-inch HDPE tubing with a locate wire attached to the main and curb stop. 5. Cut and Kill Old Main: The contractor will cut and kill the old 2-inch water main in accordance with regulatory requirements and best practices. 6. Driveway Replacement: The contractor will open cut and replace any driveways affected by the water main replacement work, restoring them to their original condition or better.
