Construction & Installation The successful Bidder shall convert the Glenview & Long site into native prairie habitat. Necessary work is expected to include, but not be limited to, applying herbicide to remove unwanted vegetation, soil hauling and amendment, erosion control, and the supplying of prairie seed and plugs to be installed. Timing of Work Site preparation and seeding shall be completed in Spring 2025, no later than June 15, 2025. Plugs shall be installed manually (with no machines) after May 1, 2025, but no later than June 15, 2025. Performance Guarantee The successful Bidder shall be responsible for the maintenance and management of native plantings at the Glenview & Long site until June 1, 2026. Management shall include, but not be limited to, watering, weeding by hand, herbicide application, mowing/string trimming, overseeding and replanting. The successful Bidder shall guarantee 70% relative cover by seeded and/or planted native species and 90% survivorship of all herbaceous plant plugs for one full growing season after provisional acceptance (June 1, 2026). If more than 10% of plants do not survive, the successful Bidder shall replant lost plants in the fall of 2026 as specified by the Village. Permits Cook County Construction Permit No. 2024-02895 dated 04/04/2024 and expires on 03/22/2025 has been issued for this work. The Village is responsible for renewing the permit if needed.
