Shoe Specifications: All shoes must comply with any of the following consensus standards as referenced in Federal OSHA Standards, Title 29 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Part 1910.136, and any applicable revisions thereto: ASTM F-2412-2005, “Standard Test Methods for Foot Protection”; AND, ASTM F-2413-2005, “Standard Specification for Performance Requirements for Protective (Safety) Toe Cap Footwear”; OR, ANSI Safety Specification Z41-1999, “American National Standard for Personal Protection – Protective Footwear”; OR, ANSI Z41-1991, “American National Standard for Personal Protection – Protective Footwear” Shoes must be leather construction with nylon, canvas, suede as a secondary material. Shoes are to be high-top style (at least six inches (6”)). All steel toe caps must be Classification fifty (50), seventy-five (75), or one hundred (100). Composite toe caps are acceptable if they meet the ASTM/ANSI standard referenced above. The Contractors are expected to assist each employee in selecting a shoe style and sole type that fits well and is suitable for the type of work performed by the employee.
