ROW mowing shall be at least 12’ from the road or as ROW and property lines allow. All brush up to 1” in diameter will be mowed down to the ground. Areas behind guard rails must also be mowed down. Areas that include intersections need extra attention to ensure line of sight is addressed. This will occur three times per season. The first cut shall occur in May/June, the second cut shall be in July/August, and the third cut shall be in September/October. Mowing dates and times shall be requested and/or approved by the City. City owned properties that are not a part of any other contractual grounds maintenance contract may also be included in the scope of work. The City shall not deem a contractor a responsible bidder if the contractor is operating from a location within the City of Elgin that is not lawfully zoned, if said location has violations of the Elgin Municipal Code that are correctable by or otherwise within the responsibility of the contractor, if the contractor has had all or part of the performance bond previously forfeited, or if the contractor has had a contract for these or like services terminated for cause within the last three (3) year.
