1. Record nameplate data, model or catalog number, serial number, voltage, amperage, etc. 2. Record switch location and designation. 3. Review previous year’s report; note any repairs called out. 4. Visually inspect all cable and wire connections for signs of tracking, overheating, and insulation deterioration. 5. Check/tighten all control wiring connections. 6. Check any manual switches for free movement and continuity. 7. Record all time delay settings and verify that the delay matches the setting. 8. Check all voltage/frequency-sensing relays. Record as found settings as well as corrected settings if they require calibration. 9. Record and test all control relays. 10. Perform localized infrared scan on all cable connections, bus bar, and main contacts. 11. Check and record amperage readings on both normal and emergency main contacts. 12. Check and record millivolt drop readings on both normal and emergency main contacts. 13. Check and record phase to phase and phase to ground voltages on both normal and emergency. 14. Check and record frequency on both normal and emergency. 15. Record engine start battery voltage while engine is at rest and cranking. 16. Visually inspect main and arcing contacts and arc chutes. 17. When necessary, burnish all open style relay and auxiliary contacts due to oxidation. 18. When necessary, lubricate actuator shaft, heim joints, and transfer mechanisms. 19. Wipe down exterior of enclosure and clean interior of any dust or dirt accumulations. 20. Check enclosure door locking mechanism. 21. Check switch for proper transfer operation and sequencing of time delays and controls. 22. Forward any corrective actions taken during the maintenance to the NBC Representative. 23. Forward any unsafe conditions that exist to the NBC Representative. 24. Forward recommendations of any components requiring replacement to the NBC Representative. 25. If the switch is a bypass/isolation transfer switch, exercise and operate the bypass/isolation section of the switch. A. Successful vendor must be available twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week, be able to complete temporary repairs in less than four (4) hours and must certify that work is not being subcontracted. B. Travel time is not allowed as a part of this agreement. All billable time is for on-site hours completed only. C. The vendor shall be solely responsible for the accuracy of all measurements and for estimating the material quantities required to satisfy these specifications. Any work requiring a license shall be performed under the applicable license, as required under local or state laws. D. Vendor shall furnish the labor, materials, service equipment, tools, transportation, and methods of communication to complete repair and replacement service. E. The vendor shall not sublet any portion of work without prior approval from NBC.
