Pueblo Community College Fremont, located in Cañon City, CO seeks architectural/engineering services for the design and construction of a new Nursing Simulation Lab. This Nursing Simulation Lab will expand and enhance the college’s Nursing program, which has the highest program enrollment at the Fremont campus. This lab addition will allow the program to grow and allow students to learn in a controlled environment. A space needs analysis was completed as part of a recent Program Plan. The proposed 1-story addition is approximately 2,700 sq. ft in size to meet identified program needs and will be located within the north portion of the existing courtyard adjacent to an existing nursing classroom. As part of this project, the existing outdoor courtyard will be re-configured to provide outdoor access with seating amenities. The project program includes: Two Patient Labs with a shared control room for observation of simulation activities. The addition will include a nursing station with visibility to the two patient labs. Support spaces such as clean utility, soiled utility, meds room, and equipment storage will also be included. The addition will have direct access to the existing Nursing program classroom. This project will be a Design/Bid/Build delivery method with approximately $1,800,000 available for hard construction costs.
