The County of Calaveras (County) is soliciting proposals from independent, licensed, professional consultant firms with expertise in the preparation of a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan funded by a Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant awarded by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). The purpose of SS4A grants is to improve roadway safety by significantly reducing or eliminating roadway fatalities and serious injuries through safety action plan development and refinement and implementation focused on all users. The first phase of the SS4A program is the Comprehensive Safety Action Plan (Action Plan). The County will be developing the Action Plan to later pursue the second phase of SS4A, which is project implementation. This Request for Proposals (RFP) process will be used by the County to select a firm to enter into a Professional Services Agreement (PSA) with the County for the development of a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan. The selected firm will be expected to work closely with designated County staff to ensure the timely implementation of a system that meets the identified scope and needs of the County. A sample Professional Services Agreement is included as an attachment.
