The objective of the Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) system is to enable real-time tracking of vehicles for Hot Springs Intercity Transit (HSIT). Each vehicle is equipped with an AVL device that transmits its location data to a cloud-based system, ensuring that this information is updated with a maximum latency of ten (10) seconds. This process relies on GPS for accurate location identification and a wireless communication system, such as cellular GPRS, for transmitting the information to an internet server. Proposers are requested to specify their recommended transmission rates for such a system. The scope of work involves providing and installing an integrated AVL system that encompasses both hardware and software components in a minimum of ten (10) transit buses. The equipment proposed shall be of new, current design production model and available to the commercial market. The equipment shall include one (1) copy of the manufacturer's published specification and warranty. The City reserves the right to review the manufacturer's specifications and choose the unit deemed to be in the City's best interest. The equipment shall comply with all state and federal safety requirements. Any deviations to these specifications shall be explained. The City of Hot Springs reserves the right to award within the budget available for the project.
