With the support of numerous stakeholders, in 2022 the Pequea Creek Watershed Restoration Plan was approved by reviewing agencies. Through targeted, strategic, incremental steps, the objective of the Plan was to make measurable strides towards restoring stream health, in essence, renewing the watershed tributary by tributary. To foster the implementation of priority conservation practices identified in the Plan, the CBF launched the Halfmoon and Pequea Creek Watersheds Renewal Project (Renewal Project) in 2023. One of the key priorities of the Renewal Project is to support 3,000 new acres of no-till cropland and 3,000 acres of cover crop practices in the Pequea Creek Watershed by June 2028. CBF is seeking to contract with one or more equipment suppliers specializing in non-motorized no-till and cover crop crimping equipment to support this endeavor by underwriting the costs of Plain Sect producers employing the equipment to implement these conservation practices.
