This agreement will provide Construction Inspection Services for a bridge repair project to address deficient conditions at various bridge structures in Region 11 (NYC). Repair work is planned for the bridges’ superstructure or substructure elements of reinforced concrete, steel, asphalt concrete and/or masonry. All work will be identified and issued through work orders. The bridge elements requiring repairs include, but not limited to, structural primary and secondary steel or concrete members, bridge bearings, deck joints, deck slabs, deck wearing surface, bridge railing, sidewalk, bridge seats, pier columns and capbeams, abutments and wing walls. Installation of shoring or support structures, bridge jacking and lifting, and other miscellaneous work is also expected. Painting of various steel members may be required. Work Zone Traffic Control Lane closures on expressways and local streets are scheduled for weekdays, weeknights and/or weekends. Consultant, under the direction of the Department, will provide inspection and administrative services to the work performed by contractor. Inspectors may be required to work nights and/or weekends.
