The project as included in CCU’s Master Plan includes raising Tanks 1 and 2 a total of 20 feet each. This project addresses the existing operating hydraulic grade line being higher than the tank overflow elevations. Once raised, the tanks will be able to float with the system. They are typically closed off because of higher system pressures. CCU is interested in reviewing the feasibility and cost of raising the tanks compared to pumping out of the tanks or constructing a new tank. The Scope of Services should include a preliminary engineering study phase comparing options described above, detailed design, and contractor procurement assistance. The contractor procurement is anticipated to be through a Guaranteed Savings Contract or Build Operate Transfer contract.
