The Contractor shall provide appraisal services for items from unclaimed safe deposit boxes and other unclaimed safekeeping repositories that are remitted to the Department of Financial Services (Department), Division of Unclaimed Property (Division), per Chapter 717, Florida Statutes (F.S.). Items are received each fall and inventoried by State staff. It is the intention of the Division to have appraisals of rare, unusual, high-end, or commonly fraudulent items completed within 18 months of receipt by the Division. Should the items remain unclaimed, they will be sold at auction. Additionally, the Division intends to have all claimed items properly identified and a replacement value established for return to the owner. The Contractor shall provide appraisal services and any additional services described herein in a professional and ethical manner.
