1. Lawn Care: a. Grass will be mowed weekly or, on an as needed basis as growing season and as scheduled special events in the downtown dictates. b. Common grass areas will be cut at a height of 3 to 4 inches depending on the season. Special turf grasses will be cut at appropriate recommended height. c. Leaves will be removed from turf areas to an off-site location, when needed. d. All beds and turf edges, tree rings, etc. will be edged weekly when mowed. e. Sticks, limbs, and other debris will be picked up weekly, whether mowing occurs or not, and moved to an off-site location. f. Steep banks will be mowed or string trimmed quarterly. 2. Flower/Shrub Beds: a. All beds will be treated with a pre-emergence herbicide in the spring or until all overgrowth is dead. b. All beds will be sprayed with a post-emergence herbicide as needed. c. Beds will be weeded as needed. d. Leaves will be blown out of beds weekly and removed from site. 3. Shrubs/Trees/Flowering Plants: a. As recommended and approved, trees and shrubs and flowering plants will be fertilized with a high quality, slow-release fertilizer. b. Trees and shrubs up to 15 ft. in height, will be thinned and/or pruned properly, to remove dead or damaged growth and suckers, per tree species. Removing dead growth will be done as needed; pruning will be done a maximum of 3 times a year. c. Shrubs, hedges, perennials, flowering plants, and ground covers up to 10 ft, will be pruned a maximum of 3 times per year. d. Suckers will be removed from trees and shrubs as needed. This will be evaluated weekly. e. Dead shrubs/plants will be removed and replaced on a cost, plus labor basis. f. Kudzu and other invasive species will be removed (trimmed back, sprayed, and dead debris removed) as needed.
