1. This product must meet the specifications of the water purification division of the American Water Works Association for potable water (ANSI/AWWA B300-99). Successful bidders shall include a statement of compliance stating conformance to the above referenced AWWA standard. 2. This product shall be certified as suitable for contact with or treatment of drinking water by an accredited certification organization in accordance with ANSI/NSF Standard 60, Drinking Water Treatment Chemicals-Health Effects. 3. Bids shall include a certified analysis of content of a typical (recent) production lot. 4. Sodium hypochlorite solution should be a clear, light yellow liquid and shall contain no more than 0.15% insoluble matter by weight. Total free alkali (expressed as NaOH) shall not exceed 1.5% by weight. 5. Quantity to be delivered to the City of High Point NC is approximately 225,000 gallons based on 16% available chlorine. The liquid solution shall be between 15 and 16% available chlorine. 6. The manufacturer shall supply information (table or graph) showing the relationship between percentage sodium hypochlorite and free available chlorine. 7. The maximum metal contents are: a. Mercury <1.0 mg/L b. Copper <0.050 mg/L c. Nickel <0.050 mg/L d. Iron <0.100 mg/L Maximum calcium content shall be no greater than 1.0 mg/L and maximum magnesium content shall be no greater than 3.0 mg/L. Product turbidity should not exceed 25 NTU.
