The State has identified the following desired goals: Goal #1: Reduce the person-hours required to prepare, validate, and edit the annual HPMS submittal. Goal #2: Make the methodology, business rules, and processes followed to generate the HPMS submittal data more transparent and easily understood by the SDDOT participants. Goal #3: Create a user-friendly environment that enables multiple users and new staff members to actively participate in the data validation and assembly. Goal #4: Operate an environment that integrates all the Federal Highway Works Administration (FHWA) HPMS Software validation checks, and data items and formats required now and, in the future, (currently HPMS version 9.0). The desired objectives, at a minimum, will be: - Interface to compile, format, and integrate data from several sources and functional areas. - Format data for the Federal HPMS System Submittal software. - Run validation and coverage checks based on the current FHWA validation rules. - Provide HPMS reporting assistance as needed; and - Assist in facilitating the development of the systems that feed data to the HPMS program to meet federal reporting requirements.
