The new bridge will be a three span continuous steel beam bridge with a concrete deck supported on steel piles drilled and socketed into rock with approach slabs in accordance with IDOT specifications. The bridge will provide two 14 ft. lanes and 2 ft. shoulders. The new bridge will be on a new alignment since the existing bridge will still be in service. Currently the existing bridge is the only means of egress for the residents. There will be no parking, bicycle, turning lanes, sidewalks, shared-use path or traffic control devices. There will be no railroad work, utility adjustment and intersection improvements. The new alignment will be on a horizontal curb with an emax of 8%. The side slopes are 3:1 and the clear zones shall meet current standards.
