Step 1. Data Collection and Analysis – This assessment is to be performed as a means to establish a baseline of the corridor and understand it in context to the region by utilizing existing data and findings from the Economic Vitality plan in progress. Step 2. Community Input and Connection – Interviews, surveys, and workshops to gather input from those who live or work near the corridor. Step 3. Draft Plan and Initial Report – The draft plan should contain major topics, and preliminary recommendations based on the data and community input gathered in steps 1 and 2. This step will allow staff and key stakeholders to review initial deliverables and prepare for further community review which will refine the final Plan and implementation strategy. Step 4. Presentation of Draft Plan – With assistance from the contractor, the Village shall present the draft plan to the public and the Village Board for review and consideration. Step 5. Final Plan Review with Implementation Strategy – The Plan will focus on a time-bound and realistic approach to implementation and identify the key staff or community member to implement each step. Final approval process steps include: a. Presentations. The consultant will make a formal presentation on the final draft plan to Oak Park’s Village Board and Berwyn’s City Council. b. Additional Revisions. The Consultant will be responsible for revisions that may become necessary after the final presentation. c. Approval of Plan. The Consultant shall provide the Communities with the planning document in its final form for adoption by the Village Board of Trustees and City Council. City and Village staff will prepare the request for adoption of the final plan.
