The University of New Mexico is seeking proposals from qualified consulting firms to develop a detailed implementation plan for relocating a number of departments within Institutional Support Services (ISS), including Facilities Management (FM), Facilities Design & Construction (FDC), Campus Capital & Space Planning (CCSP), Sustainability, plus Contract Archaeology and various other operations to a new site. The successful firm will demonstrate expertise in facilities space planning, operational efficiency, supply chain methodologies, and workflow optimization. Given the new site’s increased distance from Central Campus, this project will build upon the FM Assessment that UNM recently completed and emphasize innovative operational models and strategies to ensure timely service delivery, consolidate functions, and optimize resource use. The consultant will also explore alternative approaches to certain functions, such as supply chain management and warehousing, to improve overall efficiency. This effort and project are time sensitive and enables another major university function to be deployed at the site being vacated. That project needs to break ground by November 2026. The planning effort will quickly transition into design and then construction. We are looking for a consultant team that will partner with our internal UNM Campus Capital & Space Planning Department and other ISS units to build upon the work our team has been conducting to move the project forward to design and implementation in a fast-paced timeline.
