The Department of Administrative Services / Construction Services DAS/CS is seeking the services of a highly qualified engineering team. The team will provide Design, Bidding and Construction Administration Services to the DAS/CS in support of the Bridgeport Correctional Center (CC) Air Conditioning and Electrical Upgrade located at 1106 North Avenue Bridgeport CT. The scope of work includes the installation of air conditioning and electrical upgrades in the cell blocks and day rooms of Blocks 37, 38, and 39 in the New Center, as well as in the Madison Building. These upgrades are based on the recommendations outlined in the Air Conditioning Feasibility Study, prepared by Kohler Ronan Consulting Engineers, dated November 10, 2023. New Center – Blocks 37, 38, and 39: The scope of work in the New Center involves upgrading the HVAC systems in the cell blocks and day rooms to enhance air quality, comfort, and energy efficiency. The primary objectives are to provide effective temperature control and ventilation for the building’s occupants. The upgraded system should incorporate energy-saving features, facilitate ease of maintenance, and be adaptable for future upgrades. The design should integrate smoothly with the existing infrastructure, minimizing disruption to the building and ensuring long-term operational efficiency. Madison Building: The work in the Madison Building aims to replace the existing HVAC systems with energy-efficient solutions that provide reliable temperature control and improved air quality throughout the building. The upgraded system should be designed to support consistent performance, with backup heating capabilities to ensure reliable comfort. Additionally, the system should incorporate energy recovery measures to optimize overall efficiency. The electrical capacity required for these upgrades will depend on the installation of the new power distribution system in Block 38, which must support the additional load.
