Field Technician Operations: 1. Portland Cement Concrete Testing Technician • (City of Milwaukee Requests) Professional Services for Construction Material Testing and Other Field Services 5 This includes technician, vehicle and mileage costs and all tests performed by the technician. Usual and historical data show the need to have a full-time technician assigned to concrete field testing during the period of approximately March through December, depending on weather conditions. However, proposals should base field technician time on the current project projection for 2025 construction season. Field tests of concrete, including slump, entrained air content, unit weight test and the casting of six inch by twelve inch (6" x 12") compressive strength test cylinders will be required daily on each job (typically 30 yards or more) of whenever concrete is being poured and placed. The area of coverage includes the entire City of Milwaukee and is for all construction projects, including but not limited to street, alley, curb & gutter, and sidewalk construction. It would be expected that the technician would be able to remain on a job site until any air content problems are resolved. It is not expected that overtime would be a necessity and the normal workday would run from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The technician will need to be equipped with a cellular phone or a paging device. On inclement weather days, the technician would still be required to pick up cylinders from the previous days' concrete placement, but time would be of a limited nature. On such days, only the time spent on the City contracts would be invoiced. There are thirty-seven (30) concrete/asphalt paving projects scheduled for 2025. 2. Portland Cement Concrete Testing Technician • Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Certification This includes a certified technician (as required), vehicle and mileage costs and all tests performed by the technician. The technicians will be responsible for performing the QA (Quality Assurance) portion of the Quality Management Program · for placement of concrete pavement on WisDOT projects requiring it. There are anticipated to be fifteen (15) WisDOT paving projects and five (5) WisDOT bridge projects scheduled for 2025.
