3.2.1.1 The Americans with Disabilities Act: The Americans with Disabilities Act (https:www.ada.gov/) protects qualified individuals with disabilities from discrimination on the basis of disability in services, programs, and activities. Accessibility and inclusion of diverse populations are essential to reduce health disparities for vulnerable populations. Contractors must comply with all ADA requirements in their work to ensure the needs of persons with disabilities and other vulnerable populations are met. This includes, but is not limited to: ● facilities and any venues used for meetings/conferences are accessible; ● requested accommodations are provided in a timely manner; and ● written and printed materials developed in accessible formats (easy to read, large print, etc.), or providing access to alternative formats. For contracts which include direct patient care or service delivery through a program, the ADA requires entities provide full and equal access for people with disabilities. This includes, but is not limited to: ● reasonable modifications of policies, practices, and procedures; ● effective communication; and ● accessible facilities. 3.2.1.2 Programming A. Recruit (Identify new IIHS providers) 8 09/2023 1. Prospective Community Provider Recruitment/Education - Applicant will reach out to current agencies licensed under BHA as Psychiatric Rehabilitation Programs (PRPs), Outpatient Mental Health Centers (OMHCs) and/or Mobile Treatment Services (MTSs) programs to educate prospective agencies on the opportunity to become trained in the Family Centered Treatment (FCT) Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) or the In-Home Intervention Program for Children (IHIP-C) Promising Practice to increase Maryland’s capacity to serve youth receiving Intensive In-Home Services (IIHS) through the 1915(i) waiver. 2. Partner - Applicant will identify at least 2 agencies willing to designate 2 staff members be trained in the FCT or the IHIP-C model. 3. Training & Technical Assistance - Applicant will provide the necessary training and technical assistance to achieve initial certification in the Family Centered Treatment (FCT) model or the orientation training certificate in the InHome Intervention Program for Children (IHIP-C) model. Applicant will also educate agencies on the process and requirements for enrolling as a 1915(i) EBP- or PP- IIHS provider. The identified provider organization will include a sustainability plan outlining steps they will take to become a EBP-IIHS or PP-IIHS provider beyond the end of the contract.
