Fiber Wiring Standards The contractor shall supply all labor and materials for a complete funconal system as described. This may include installing all cabling, conduit, surface molding, raceway, inserts, liu’s, patch cables, trenching, and other labor related to the installaon. Most locaons currently have ber, and the pathway is already dened in most cases. To save costs, please reuse the inner duct and dened pathway. The old cable should not be removed, but it may be removed from the LIU if room is needed. ● Maps will be provided for the approximate locaons of MDF and IDFs. 6 ● One (1) 2-meter and One (1) 4-meter LC-LC Single Mode Fiber Patch cable is in yellow color per ber pair. ● All conduit, innerduct, raceway, or molding shall be secured. (IE...No peel and sck) ● Horizontal runs must be supported in tunnels or ceiling areas when necessary. ● Single Mode Fiber should be plenum-rated or beer. ● All ber should be 9/125 in diameter, yellow in color, and support 1310nm and 1550nm wavelengths. ● Some runs may require armored single-mode ber. ● All Fiber should be terminated in a LIU. ● All ends should be terminated with LC. ● Fiber should be labeled on both the wire and the LIU. ● 10’ service loop on each end(If possible). ● Tesng, documentaon, and warranty of the installed Fiber. ● Only the Ogden School District Chief Technology Ocer or Network Engineer may authorize changes during installaon.
