The scope of work consists of statewide portable traffic counting to supplement the State's counting program. The Hawaii Department of Transportation has focused its short-term counting program on the major non-interstate routes in the State highway system and has limited resources to cover the remainder of the functionally classified State system. This project will extend the State's short-term traffic counting program and covers approximately 1,500 locations on State and county routes in the State system on the islands of Kauai, Lanai, Maui, Molokai, and Oahu. The project includes 7-day classification control counts at approximately 60 mainline and 180 ramp locations on the interstate system, as well as 48-hour classification counts at about 1,260 locations on routes in the State system.
