The purpose of the State of Alabama National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Formula Program (NEVI Program or Program) is to provide funding to strategically deploy electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure sites to support the development of convenient, accessible, reliable, and equitable EV charging, in order to establish an interconnected network to facilitate data collection, access, and reliability and to create a convenient, affordable, reliable, and equitable network of chargers throughout the state. This Program provides funding assistance for publicly accessible Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) infrastructure and installation meeting the requirements described or referenced herein along Federal Highway Administration (FHWA)-designated Electric Vehicle Alternative Fuel Corridors throughout Alabama (Project) (see map below for NEVI Round 1 Charging Station Sites Awarded).
