The City of Bowling Green, KY is soliciting Proposals from qualified respondents for the purchase and installation of a new live burn facility to be located at Fire Station 5/Public Safety Training Center. The address of this location is 250 Porter Pike in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Respondents shall submit a price along with conceptual design with the proposal. Wants/needs shall include: • Ten (10) 40 ft. shipping containers to include assembly – containers are to be bolted together, not welded. • Containers will be prepped with two (2) coats of oil based paint for metal. • Engineering plans/permits to include custom 3D CAD design, structural and foundation engineering to meet NFPA 1402 certification. • Five (5) Class A Burn rooms to include 2,400 degree insulation and air control vents, steel floor, and steel burn shell. • Three (3) Built-in force doors to include flexible and crush section, multi-level locking, built-in rebar/hinge cutting tree, drop bar capable, and panic bar capable. • Seventeen (17) heavy gauge steel windows with closures and locks. • Three (3) Interior staircases/railings designed/stamped/fabricated to support firefighter tactical loads. • Two (2) 3-level exterior return staircases, painted steel construction with approved railing and design system, with entry access to each level of the building. • 4x8 balcony with OSHA approved railings. • Customizable wall configuration package. • Roof cut prop with adjustable pitch and drywall punch capabilities. • Window sash prop to universally fit all windows with center frame clearing prop. • Five (5) window bailout anchors. • Dry standpipe system with valve access at each level.
