The purpose of this RFI is to gather information regarding the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of a centralized database system for the Department’s wildlife data. Additionally, information from vendors on general functionality, best practices, and general pricing structures will be helpful to the Department for budget planning and the development of one or more RFPs. This RFI solicits information from experienced sources, vendors/contractors, and other qualified service providers to formalize the scope of work for a potential RFP by allowing the vendor community to apprise the Department on information that should be considered as part of the final scope of work. The information gained from this RFI may be used in the development of future competitive solicitation processes, which could lead to the selection of one or more vendors best suited to provide and service a centralized database system, in whole or in part, that meets the Department’s needs. We envision this wildlife database system to include multiple primary modules, with each one potentially requiring infrastructure and user interface development. The highest priority modules include: - Fish Hatchery Production and Stocking Data, - Aquatic Species Occurrences and Population Surveys, - Terrestrial Species Occurrences, Population Surveys, and Health, - GPS/VHF Collaring, Movement, and Survival
