In general, the work consists of: due to the current configuration of the utility metering and the introduction to backup power by this project, the scope includes reconfiguration of the incoming service to avoid metering of the backup power. This includes a new CT connection cabinet, which will have an integral service disconnecting means. The existing service conduits will be re-used, but new cabling is required to accommodate this configuration. An automatic transfer switch will be implemented in the main electrical room to interface between normal service power and backup power to serve the existing main switchboard. Also, the panel labeled 1/X, which has been field verified to serve all the life safety loads, will be re-fed via a UPS system to ensure Code compliance accordingly.
