The project involves the closure of several mine openings. The openings are near several residences and present hazard of entrapment, including an open shaft adjacent to the roadway. The project consists of one wildlife accessible portal closure and one shaft closure which will be surrounded with safety fence. Several collapsed portals will remain undisturbed Drainage structures will be installed around the Dollarhide residence, including a subdrain and ditch behind the home. The yard stays wet due to a lack of drainage controls. A ditch along the road will drain the low spot to the existing pipe. All drainage will outlet to the existing creek. Temporary low water crossings will be installed for access to the portal closures. Bituminous repair, including roadway stone, has been factored into the contract. Revegetation of the site, including agricultural limestone, fertilizer, mulch and seed will be done according to standard AML design specifications. No trees above 3" DBH will be removed for this project.
