Backplates (with hardware): Backplates shall include a minimum of six (6) 12-14x3/4-inch Hillman Neoprene self-drilling steel washer screws or approved equal. The louvers shall be installed horizontally and as close to the signal face as possible. A) Reflective Backplates Provide a 2-inch-wide fluorescent yellow reflective tape that is installed around the outer perimeter of the face of the backplates to project a rectangular appearance at night. Use reflective tape that complies with ASTM D4956-05, latest Type XI, Fluorescent Yellow and is listed on the KYTC pre-approved materials list. When these backplates are ordered they shall be packaged by type and 25 per box. Each box shall include a label of the type of backplate enclosed. Screws shall be enclosed in a bag and taped to each backplate before they are packaged in boxes for shipment.
