A. Contractor shall mow and trim all areas approximately once every ten (10) to fourteen (14) days, or on an as needed basis during periods of inclement weather during the term of the contract period. A schedule of approximate mowing dates will be worked out with selected vendor prior to starting the contract annually. Contractor will be provided with at least 48 hours’ notice if schedule needs to be adjusted based on growing conditions or other factors. B. Mowers will be 36” cut rotary mowers or larger. The use of tractors with finish mowers are not an acceptable means for mowing. C. Mowing under wet conditions or when the ground is saturated will not be permitted. D. A minimum of 22 mows will be required for the season with a maximum of 32 mows for the season. Actual number will be determined by the Cemetery Sexton based on growing conditions. E. All mowing equipment shall be equipped with sharp blades so as not to tear, but cleanly cut the grass blades. Mower decks should be level as to cut an even height from side to side of mower deck. All grass shall be cut at a height of approximately two and a half inches (2 ½”). All structures, trees, poles, tables, signs, fences, headstones, shrub beds and other objects are to be trimmed closely. Special care shall be given to trimming around small trees so as not to inflict damage to the bark of the trees. All trimming shall be accomplished maintaining the required two and a half inches (2 ½”) cutting height. All trimming must be accomplished concurrently with mowing operations and must be completed in the same 48hr-72hr timeframe. Upon completion, a mowed area shall be free of clumped grass and tire tracks or ruts from the mowing equipment. Turf shall be cut in a professional manner so as not to scalp turf of leave areas of uncut grass. Care shall be taken to avoid discharging grass clippings on to any surface such as headstones, streets, or adjacent properties. Any material so discharged shall be removed immediately prior to proceeding with mowing of other areas. F. Removal of all trash on the ground prior to mowing and at the conclusion of each mow is required. Any trash and litter cut or broken during mowing operations shall be completely removed from mowing areas immediately prior to proceeding with the mowing of other areas. This includes any silk flowers or other temporary grave ornamentation hit or disturbed by mowers.
