The selected firm will be responsible for all design activities related to the following: 2.1. Front Entrance Redesign • Sewer System Repair: Assess and repair the failing sewer line(s) located near the front entrance. Coordination with the local utilities and adherence to all regulatory requirements will be necessary. Civil Engineering anticipated for this component. • Landscaping: Safely remove a large tree obstructing the front entrance. This includes stump removal, root management, and remediation of any damage caused by the roots to existing infrastructure. Develop new landscaping design for front entry. • Ramp, Patios, and Stairway Reconstruction: Rebuild the front entrance ramp and stairs to ensure they meet ADA accessibility standards and are aesthetically consistent with the existing Library design. Durable, weather-resistant materials should be used. Structural/Civil engineering expected for this component. • Vestibule: Rebuild the front vestibule to be a more integral part of the entrance and address ADA issues. Structural engineering anticipated for this component. • Windows and Facade: Replace all front windows that lookout from our Community Room. Structural engineering anticipated for this component. 2.2. New Children’s Room Entrance (Anticipated to be included in construction bid as an add-alternate) • Design and Construction of Side Entrance: Design a new, family-friendly entrance for the Children’s Room on the side of the building. The entrance should be designed with safety, accessibility, and ease of use in mind, incorporating elements such as child-sized handrails and adequate lighting. This entrance will be cut into an existing outdoor amphitheater and will need to address the doors leading outside for ADA compliance. An addition to the building is not being contemplated. Structural/Civil engineering anticipated for this component. • Landscaping and Pathway Development: Provide landscaping and create a safe, accessible pathway from the front of the building to the new entrance.
