This proposal contains two phases with the first phase focused on planning, safety audit and community engagement to reach a preferred design alternative. The second phase of the PROJECT is to complete the detailed engineering design necessary to bid the PROJECT out for construction in 2026. The design/planning for the PROJECT is funded through a US DOT Safe Streets for All (SS4A) grant. The construction for the PROJECT is funded through local City of Madison funds. Anticipated Construction Year: 2026 Planning & Design Funding: 80% Federal, 20% Local (City of Madison) Construction Funding: 100% Local funds and assessments (City of Madison) Phase One includes: • Analysis of the current conditions • Completion of a traffic safety audit • Community engagement • Development and evaluation of design alternatives • Recommending, designing and evaluation of demonstration project to test designs • Completion of a Corridor Study report Phase Two includes: • Final engineering design • Plans, Specifications and Estimates (P.S. & E.)
