5.1. VCBJ -Dormitory - Detention, Medical & Office Furniture A. Background: A new single-story dormitory building is under construction at the Volusia County Branch Jail, 1300 Red John Drive, Daytona Beach, Florida 32124. The building is located within the secure perimeter of the Branch Jail. There is no loading dock. Delivery is to ground floor at grade via a chain-link security fence gates. For security purposes, the floor plan is not provided in the solicitation. It will be provided to the awarded furniture vendor. B. The County of Volusia is seeking a Furniture Vendor, duly authorized to conduct business in the state of Florida as listed on the Florida Department of State, Division of Corporations’ Sunbiz report available at www.sunbiz.org (Sunbiz), to provide all labor, materials, and supervision for complete installation of all furniture work for the project known as VCBJ Mental Health Dormitory: Detention, Medical and Office Furniture per the solicitation documents. The scope of work also includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. The contract time includes materials lead time, fabrication, delivery and installation. The Furniture Vendor shall coordinate his/ her work with the County’s Construction Manager. Furniture installation shall occur approximately in March 2025. Final delivery and installation date will be provided by the County Project Manager once construction of the dormitory is complete. 2. The awarded Furniture Vendor shall complete required Division of Corrections background checks (attached as Exhibit C) for all workers proposed to be on-site. Background checks shall be submitted to the County within two (2) days after notice of award and before Purchase Order is produced. Only approved workers will be permitted to perform services as required for this project. The County is responsible for processing and fees related to the background checks. 3. The Furniture Vendor is responsible for shipping, delivery, offloading, uncrating and installation of all furniture to placement inside building. 4. The Furniture Vendor is responsible for all flagmen and traffic control personnel as necessary to get trucks in and out of the Project site in a safe and effective manner. 5. The Furniture Vendor shall submit product cut sheets, furniture schedule and material samples to County consistent with approved bid within two weeks of issuance of Purchase Order (PO). 6. The Furniture Vendor is responsible for anchor down furniture items A1 and A1-a to the concrete slab with tamper-proof anchors. Furniture vendor to provide tamper proof anchor material. No other furniture will be anchored to slab. 7. The Furniture Vendor shall be aware the County will complete multi-punch out and walkthroughs as it is anticipated all the furniture will not be delivered at once. 8. The Furniture Vendor is responsible for protecting all work installed and the work of others while installation is taking place. Any damage to others work during installation of this Scope of Work will be at the cost of Furniture Vendor. 9. All products shall be crated and shipped in a manner to avoid damage to materials. 10. The Furniture Vendor shall not deliver any material or assemblies to the site without written approval of the County. 11. The Furniture Vendor shall notify County immediately of any furniture that is damaged during delivery. The Furniture Vendor is responsibility to provide replacement of damaged furniture at no cost to the County. 12. The Furniture Vendor shall verify installers are factory certified by the manufacturers.
