Lake County, Colorado is seeking proposals for the grooming of snow in the East Side Mining District during the 2024-2025 winter/spring season. Interested parties are requested to submit a statement of experience, understanding of the project, qualifications, and a breakdown of proposed services to Lake County regarding providing professional grooming services. The successful applicant will be required to provide the following services for the winter/spring season. Services shall be provided for approximately 19 weeks, weather dependent. Grooming of the East Side Mining District as depicted on the Leadville Mining District Groomed Winter Trails map (attached) The anticipated grooming season is December – April 15th but it shall be at the discretion of the Roadway Supervisor when the roadways become available for winter grooming. Grooming shall commence when there is at least 2’ of snow on the trail due to the nature of the unpaved roads within the District. Grooming days may vary depending on the most conducive weather conditions but shall be performed a minimum of twice a week at night. The proposal shall include a method for reporting and monitoring. It is understood the trails must remain open to the public for motorized and non-motorized users. Due to multi-user access and for safety reasons, a track setter shall not be used on the trail.
