Through this Request for Proposals, the City of Champaign is soliciting proposals from qualified firms to provide a storage, backup, and disaster recovery solution. The City is seeking a solution with three main parts detailed below. The City reserves the option to select all or a portion of the solution. 2. Purchase/subscribe to storage/compute resources at cloud or co-location site for the purpose of Disaster Recovery replication of City Building 100TB storage (specified in Item 1 above) with the initial capacity of 40TB or so with the future option to expand. Consideration can be given to a site located 50 miles or more from Champaign Illinois. Please list firewall/switch/network resources to be supplied by the City. This will replace the need for the December 21, 2024, VMware Live Cyber Recovery 31TB renewal and further October 2025 renewals of the VMware Live Cyber Recovery DR environment. 3. Purchase 500TB storage for video archives of the City’s Milestone Video Management System (VMS) and NAS network share storage at the City Building for current and future growth (“cheap and deep” storage). This will allow the retirement of the aging Pivot3 infrastructure at Police, furthering the consolidation of equipment and resources at the City Building. 1. Purchase updated Production virtualization storage with 5-year support at the City Building including 100TB storage for VMware and Hyper-V virtualization systems. This will replace the aging Datrium storage that goes end-of-support in January 2025. The current NFS Datrium storage utilizes 4TB x 2 SSD Cache installed on each of four Dell R750 virtual hosts to enhance performance.
