A. Preparation Work. Preparation work shall include dust control (draping all windows and doors as necessary). The cost for preparation work shall include all labor, equipment, tools, material, and applicable taxes. Remove all dust before moving on to the next step. Thoroughly clean floor prior to resealing and resurfacing. Scrub existing surface, mechanically and by hand, ensuring finish meets manufacturers’ recommendation for application of striping paint and wear coat. B. Clear Coating. Contractor shall apply a coat of clear polyurethane finish as recommended by manufacturer. The cost for clear coat application shall include all labor, equipment, tools, material, shipping, and applicable taxes. The City may request additional coats of clear polyurethane finish at no additional cost to the City. Polyurethane finish shall be designed for gym or high traffic wood floor applications. Finish product shall be clear and have a high gloss finish. Contractor shall lightly sand and clean between applications of each successive coat of polyurethane as suggested by manufacturer. Buff or polish finishes as recommended. C. Restriping. Restripe lines on the gym floor. Contractor shall replicate existing pattern on the gym floor, using the same color schemes and dimensions. Contractor shall restripe the entire colored section of the designated lines so paint color matches the entire court. Example: If only a section of the blue basketball boundary line needs to be restriped, all of the blue basketball lines associated with the basketball court should be restriped. The cost for restriping application shall include all labor equipment, tools, material, shipping, and applicable taxes. Lines shall be straight and have no bleeding or spill over. Paint shall be designed for gym or high traffic wood floors compatible with the existing paints as well as the new polyurethane finish.
