St. Johns County Public Works Department invites interested and qualified vendors to submit bids for the A1A MEDIAN LANDSCAPING PROJECT (#5323) to: Deweed & fertilize the entire stretch of median from Fairfield Boulevard to Marsh Landing Parkway (Approx. 4.5 miles long, and 725,000 sq.ft.). Bed prep, to include removal of remaining Fakahatchee grass, Coontie shrubs, volunteers, and Crape Myrtle Suckers, and provide topsoil as needed to restore existing grades and promote positive drainage, and sod with Bahia grass (approx. 145,000 sq.ft.). (Or Perennial Peanut - Eco Turf - rolled, as an alternate. And/or provide Argentine Bahia grass & Rye grass, Fall/Winter seed mixture overseed spread as an alternate.) As well as watering the sodded areas until establishment. The overall goal of the project is to reduce the maintenance burden of the existing ornamental grasses and restore the areas from which they are removed using new sod to improve/ restore bare and heavily weeded areas, and to establish a uniform manicured appearance.
