5. List of Correctional Facilities a. El Dorado Correctional and Oswego Correctional: • Facility’s Current Combine Population is 1609 male residents. • The main facility is a fenced compound with 7 max/high-medium custody cellhouses. 2 cellhouses are housing for the Reception and Diagnostic Unit (RDU) for male residents, 2 cellhouses are designated as restrictive housing and houses most of the male residents facing the death penalty as well as long term and short-term restrictive housing. On half of a cellhouse has specialty housing for residents with severe and persistent mental illness. Two (2) general population units, and an infirmary. The RDU and central compound share support services and a gym. • The South Unit is in Oswego Kansas, 130 miles from the main facility. The South Unit includes one secure 257 bed low-medium custody dorm. • El Dorado Correctional Facility and the South Unit in Oswego will be audited on a single report. b. Ellsworth Correctional: • Facility's Current Population is 899 male residents. • This is a general population facility with a variety of programming and job options. The Central Unit facility houses medium custody residents in 2 buildings consisting of 10 cellhouses. • 95 Minimum custody residents are housed at the East Unit (EU) which is located 1.5 miles east of the main facility.
