The City of Minneapolis Solid Waste and Recycling Division (SW&R) intends to enter into one contract for operation of its South Municipal Solid Waste Transfer Station. The provided services must meet or exceed the City’s current Transfer Station operational needs including, but not limited to, all proposed labor, equipment, tools, materials, supplies, and personal protective equipment; operation of the Transfer Station for the tipping of Mixed Municipal Solid Waste; transportation of Municipal Solid Wastes to a permitted disposal facility; loading and transportation of Construction Debris to a permitted recycling or permitted disposal facility, loading and coordinating the transfer of recyclables, scrap metal, tires, and coordinating the transfer of electronics, appliances, mattresses and box springs delivered to the Transfer Station. The City is currently evaluating the South Transfer Station and may add or modify waste streams to recover more materials for recycling or reuse.
