The service provider will provide the following: a. The ATC will perform functions within his/her professional scope of practice, as established by NATA under the six domains of athletic training. The six domains are: 1. Prevention a. Attendance at athletic games and practices b. Application of protective and prophylactic devices c. Advise athletes on proper use of equipment d. Education of athletic injuries and conditions e. Education of athletes on nutritional aspects of performance 2. Clinical Evaluation and Diagnosis a. On-field assessment of acute athletic injuries b. Assessment of emergency conditions or situations c. Evaluation of chronic athletic injuries or conditions d. Recognition of general medical conditions 3. Immediate Care a. Acute first aid for all injuries and conditions b. Coordination/Activation of emergency medical care 4. Treatment, Rehabilitation, and Reconditioning a. Application of modalities to athletic injuries b. Instruction of rehabilitation exercises for athletic injuries c. Instruction on methods of maintaining overall body conditioning while injured d. Education of the injury and direction of care e. Supervision of athletes’ return to activity f. Referral of athletes to more specialized care for injury management g. Coordination of outside care and treatments 5. Organization and Administration a. Maintenance of Athletic Training Room b. Inventory of all Athletic Training Room supplies and resources c. Accurate documentation of all daily treatments, injuries, and referrals d. Injury Report to Athletics office each sports’ season e. Collection of all correspondence with treating physician f. Routine communication between parent or guardian, coach, and treating therapist or physician...
