I. Overview. Furnish, deliver and install an inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (‘ICP-MS”) for the Environmental Quality Division of the Department of Environmental Services, City and County of Honolulu, Honolulu, Hawaii. Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment and installation, transportation and delivery, and tools and materials necessary to perform all requirements specified herein. II. Minimum Specifications. A. Item No. 1 - ICP-MS 1. Make and Model: PerkinElmer ICP-MS NexION 2200 or approved substitute a. General Features 1) Triple quadrupole instrument with one (1) full sized transmission analyzer quadrupole which is able to deliver <1 atomic mass unit (“amu”) resolution and custom resolution to 0.3 amu. The quadrupole shall be able to scan a minimum of 5000 amu/sec to achieve maximum productivity from transient signals when jumping between light masses and high masses. 2) No extraction lenses/Einzel lenses to clean or maintain. 3) Include a quadrupole based universal cell to eliminate interferences. There shall be a collision/reaction cell with the ability to eliminate spectroscopic interferences using either collision gases with collision mode or pure reaction gases such as 100% ammonia and 100% oxygen in reaction mode. 4) Not require any periodic maintenance (cleaning) or replacement of the collision, reaction, or universal cell and the main filtering quadrupole for the system’s lifetime by the user or the manufacturer’s service engineers. The vendor shall provide a copy of the instrument hardware manual to verify this requirement is satisfied.
