The Town of Farmville seeks a contractor to remove the existing sand filter and chlorine disinfection systems at their wastewater treatment plant. The contractor is to provide two (2) new Aqua Aerobics Systems, Inc. - 8 Disk Media Filters (Model ADFSC-54 x 8E-PC), OR EQUIVALENT, with the associated piping, valves, fittings, level and controls sensors, Control Panels, and controls. Two of the units will be used to replace the facilities existing sand media filters. The units will be required to be installed in a sequential fashion in order to maintain the treatment process throughout construction. The contractor is to connect the new media filters solids removal pumps to the existing sand filter return lines for solids removal. The Disk Filters components are supplied by the manufacturer as a complete unit. As part of the installation, the filters require cast in place concrete weir walls to retrofit the former sand filter basins to make the disk filters operable with the existing concrete basin and installation of concrete fillets along the edges of the existing basin to direct solids to the solids collection header supplied by the manufacturer. The contractor shall provide startup and commissioning services of the new filter units following installation. The contractor will be required to furnish the manufacturer with verification documentation that the unit(s) are installed per the manufacturer's direction and manufacturer supplied representative costs for onsite startup and commissioning for each unit.
