MARTA is seeking Proposals from Firms to provide Demand Response transit software and associated equipment. Demand Response encompasses both paratransit service, or MARTA Mobility, and on-demand transit services. The new paratransit software will allow MARTA to more dynamically schedule and deliver its paratransit service and will provide improved mechanisms for customers to apply to and track their eligibility for MARTA Mobility. On-demand is a coverage focused service model which will be launched as a part of MARTA’s Bus Network Redesign. The software will enable customers to request pick-ups and drop-offs within specific zones across the MARTA service area. For trips that start or end outside of the service zones, customers will transfer at the most convenient fixed route bus stop or rail station. The on-demand software will optimize vehicle assignments and routing to minimize customer wait times and batch trip requests to maximize ridesharing. Finally, vehicles for operating the on-demand transit service will be provided (via lease) through this Contract. MARTA’s Department of Customer Experience and Strategy will administer the contract (if awarded) pursuant to the terms and conditions contained in that certain form of Demand Response Transit Software and Equipment attached hereto at Part 4 (“Contract”).
