The intent of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to solicit proposals from qualified and experienced manufacturers of medical specialty vehicles for the purchase of at least, but not limited to, one (1) fully equipped mobile medical vehicle every year over the next five (5) years with rotation between neonate/pediatric specialty and adult/critical care/EMCO specialty transport. University of Kentucky HealthCare (UKHC), to include Kentucky Children’s Hospital (KCH), is interested in purchasing multiple mobile healthcare vehicles, to include neonate/pediatric and adult transport, that can be utilized to travel throughout Kentucky and surrounding areas. These vehicles will provide emergency and non-emergency transports in addition to subspecialty services of pediatric, neonate, critical care, and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). These vehicles will work in conjunction with subspecialists, RNs, MDs, Perfusionists, EMTs, and Paramedics at UKHC and KCH and deploy providers and care teams across the state on a scheduled frequency to care for patients, thus limiting the patient/family need to travel to Lexington for their care. These vehicles will enable UKHC and KCH to expand our models of care, neonate/pediatric, critical care, and ECMO offerings in local communities as well as offer services where physical outreach does not currently take place.
