The spreader shall be equipped with a single point connection Hydraulic Interlock device to positively prevent hydraulic pressure from reaching the auger motor when the top cover, bottom trough door or guard cover are opened beyond the normal operating position. See picture attached for reference. The Hydraulic Interlock for spreaders protects operators in two areas of the spreader: The cleanout trough at the bottom of the spreader cannot be opened until the motor hydraulic pressure hose has been disconnected, a lever is actuated to allow the trough to open and prevent pressure hose to be reconnected. This prevents the auger from turning when the trough is open. The top cover cannot be opened beyond 90° of horizontal until the motor hydraulic pressure hose described above has been disconnected and lever actuated to allow the top cover to open, lay flat or be removed. This prevents the auger from turning when the cover is being opened beyond 90°. The spreader assembly shall be constructed using U.S. Domestic 201 austenitic stainless steel or equivalent corrosion resistant U.S. Domestic non-magnetic stainless steel. A copy of Certification of Compliance shall be included with spreaders delivered to each location. Welding shall conform to Certified AWS standards and practices. All seams and joints will be 100% welded. All sheared or cut edges shall be ground, radiused, or “eased” to prevent injury...
