The City of Johnson City is accepting bids for constructing a three sided precast culvert (36ft span x 8ft rise x 70 ft long). The Contractor will perform all work as shown in the Contract Documents for the completion of the project generally described as follows: The project consists of the phased construction of a three sided precast culvert (36ft span x 8ft rise x 70 ft long), construction of the foundation for the culvert, the construction of the wing walls for the culvert, the backfill for the culvert, 30” headwall, riprap, grading, and other associated items of work. Work will include grading to prepare for the culvert, placing and compacting base stone, and seeding with mulch for grassed areas disturbed around the work area, and other associated activities. Construction will happen in phases, while traffic is on the existing bridge, part of the proposed bridge will be constructed. Once the first phase is complete and backfilled, the city shall place asphalt, curb and gutter, sidewalk, and temporary traffic control required to route traffic onto the new bridge. Once traffic has been moved to the segment of the new bridge, the old bridge shall be removed, and the remaining new bridge constructed.
